The Redskins will continue to use three-receiver sets often this season.
Brandon Lloyd should improve in his second year under coordinator Al Saunders, but may have to fight just to be in the top three. James Thrash has had a nice camp, Todd Pinkston just signed, and Mike Espy is competing.
  • WAS Wide Receiver
Mike Espy is in danger of losing his roster spot to Corey Bradford.
Espy is dealing with knee troubles at Redskins camp, and Bradford brings more experience. At worst, Espy is likely to secure a spot on the practice squad, but it doesn’t appear that he’s pushing Brandon Lloyd for playing time.
  • WAS Wide Receiver
Redskins WR Mike Espy is out for the year with a ruptured patellar tendon.
Espy, a promising player those near the team were high on, was a second-year undrafted free agent. Todd Pinkston, Corey Bradford, and James Thrash will see more work on offense. Pinkston’s chances of making the team are growing.
  • WAS Wide Receiver
Redskins waived WRs Mike Espy and Steven Harris.
Espy was a favorite of Joe Gibbs’ staff, but ruptured his patellar tendon in training camp last year and didn’t make the club. If he’s healthy, old OC Al Saunders might give Espy a look in St. Louis. Harris is a journeyman.
  • WAS Wide Receiver
Mike Espy reportedly has a decent chance to make the Washington roster next season.
Espy is receiver in the mold of Brandon Lloyd, and could potentially take playing time away if Lloyd doesn’t improve next season.
