Greenwood has some IDP upside, moving to a position where he should get more tackles.

''They will not be able to afford him,’' Greenwood’s agent said Wednesday. The three-year starter should attract sufficient attention.

Greenwood had 75 tackles last year.

Greenwood was released by the Texans in February because of his cap number and could still make a nice backup. The Raiders are also rumored to be interested in fellow free agent LB Derrick Brooks.

Greenwood was just signed by the Raiders on Aug. 16 while the team was reportedly also interested in Derrick Brooks. Turns out they didn’t need that depth anyway.

Greenwood, 31, will add depth at outside linebacker as Jon Alston is nursing a foot injury and Ricky Brown isn’t much of a playmaker on the strong side. Cross the Raiders off Derrick Brooks’ potential landing spots.

Greenwood is the Texans most proven linebacker, but Houston has stocked up on players at the position via the draft and free agency throughout the off-year. NFL Network’s Adam Schefter reported Kailee Wong, who along with Greenwood are the team’s two highest-paid LBs, could be released this month. It’s a strong possibility at least one of the Texans linebackers will be out of Houston before the season.

Greenwood played inside in Dom Capers’ 3-4. Sam Cowart, Kailee Wong, Wali Rainer, Shantee Orr, DaShon Polk, DeMeco Ryans, Charlie Anderson, Troy Evans, and Barrett Green will compete to fill the other two linebacker spots.

He beat out Barrett Green. Charlie Anderson and Shantee Orr continue to battle on the strong side with DeMeco Ryans entrenched at MLB.

We’ve always thought he had a lot of potential, and perhaps a change in coaching staff and fewer veterans in Miami could speed up his potential.
