  • PIT Running Back #21

Homer has contributed primarily on special teams for the last three seasons. The seven-year vet has just seven carries since 2023 and only one kick/punt return over that span. Its safe to say he’s far from a lock to make the 53-man roster.
  • PIT Center #62
The backup center gets a one-year deal, which makes sense for all involved. McCollum has spent the last two seasons with the Steelers. He earned a 50.2 PFF offense grade via 153 regular season snaps in 2024 and a 69.0 PFF offense grade via eight snaps in 2025.
  • PIT Wide Receiver #10
Reeling in Michael Pittman Jr. was a big move for the offense, but the Steelers have major depth issues with Calvin Austin moving on and several Aaron Rodgers-based veterans free agents and/or retired. Roman Wilson currently holds the No. 3 slot on the depth chart, and we all know Rodgers isn’t about to let that happen if he returns.
  • FA Cornerback
Slay spent the first seven years of his career (2013-2019) with the Lions before joining the Eagles in 2020. The six-time Pro Bowler and 2017 First-team All-Pro was a part of the Eagles’ 2024 championship team and led the league in both interceptions (8) and pass breakups (26) during the 2017 season. Slay walks away from the game with 28 career interceptions, five defensive touchdowns, and as the active leader in career pass breakups (163). He spent his final season with the Steelers before being claimed off waivers by the Bills in December.
  • PIT Defensive Lineman #69
Joseph-Day, 30, pressured quarterbacks 20 times last season, the second-highest figure of his career. He also notched one sack, 32 solo tackles and 10 TFLs. His signing gives the Steelers another capable, versatile defensive lineman who can immediately make an impact.
  • PIT Defensive Back #9
The hard-hitting safety will fit right in. Brisker’s 69 solo tackles ranked second among Bears defenders last year. He notched three TFLs, 10 quarterback pressures, one sack, four pass breakups and one interception as well. This will be Brisker’s first time playing for a team other than the Bears.
  • LV Fullback #83
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that the Steelers wanted to re-sign Heyward, but were unable to do so. New Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak “wants him as his full back for what he’s building in Vegas.” Heyward was listed as a tight end last season. He lined up all over the formation, including 17 snaps at quarterback, 33 snaps in the back field, 22 snaps in line, 13 snaps in the slot and seven snaps out wide. The contract includes $2 million in financial guarantees.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #19
Signing Austin gives the Giants a diminutive slot receiver to replace their former diminutive slot receiver, Wan’Dale Robinson, who signed with the Titans in free agency. Austin is far less accomplished, though, having never once produced 600 receiving yards in a single season. Austin can earn up to $4.5 million this year. It would be unsurprising to see the Giants add another slot receiver via free agency or the 2026 NFL Draft for competition.
  • TB Safety #28
Killebrew is a safety in name only. He has playd ore than 100 defensive snaps in a season just twice in his decade-long career. On the other hand, Killebrew had cleared 250 special teams snaps nine years in a row before a knee injury ended his season in Week 5 of 2025. As long as he is ready for Week 1, Killebrew should reclaim his special teams ace status in Tampa Bay this year.
  • PIT Safety #25
The veteran safety struggled to find a home in 2025. The Jags released him just after the start of the season and he signed with the Commanders. He spent eight games in Washington before the team granted his request to be released. Add in two games with the Bills and Savage appeared in a dozen regular season games last year. He totaled three pass breakups and one forced fumble. Savage will fill a depth role for the Steelers.
