Despite a holdout that spanned the entire offseason, 49ers guard Alex Boone will be good to go on Sunday against the Cowboys.

The 49ers announced today that they have activated Boone from the exempt list and placed him on the active roster.

Boone has started all 16 games each of the last two seasons, and the fact that the 49ers activated him today means they think he’ll be ready to play tomorrow without needing any training camp or preseason work. Boone ended his holdout only after the 49ers agreed to renegotiate his contract, something they previously suggested they wouldn’t do for a player who didn’t show up.

To make room for Boone on the roster, the 49ers cut receiver and special teams ace Kassim Osgood.
