Aaron Rodgers can’t wait to get to Hall of Fame, if not the game

Packers quarterback loves the Hall of Fame, and that he gets to see former teammate Brett Favre and assistant coach Kevin Greene inducted Saturday night.

As for the game that follows, he remains not a fan.

Via Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com, Rodgers maintained his, shall we say, ambivalence about playing in an extra preseason game.

“It’ll be great,” Rodgers said. “I obviously played with Brett for three years, and Kevin was coaching here for a long time. As a player, it’s one of the highest honors to get that jacket on. I’m sure it’s exciting for both those guys. With Kevin having Dom [Capers, the Packers defensive coordinator] do his intro and then Brett having his wife, Deanna, do the intros, it’s going to be really special to be a part of.

It’ll be fun to see them accept that great honor.”

But while the Colts have already said their quarterback will start, it’s unclear how much, if any, action Rodgers will see. After losing wide receiver Jordy Nelson to a preseason knee injlastlsat year, Rodgers is extra sensitive about extra work.

“It’s hard to say workload with the amount of plays I’ve played the last few years in preseason,” Rodgers said.

He only played in two preseason games last year, and hasn’t played a preseason finale since 2012. (Reminder: You, the paying fan, get to enjoy the privilege of subsidizing for this).
