ANDERSON LIKELY OUT FOR THE YEAR

If the Cleveland Browns are going to salvage their season, they’ll have to do it without quarterback Derek Anderson. Anderson is the second quarterback lost due to injury in two weeks, and James Walker of ESPN.com reports that Anderson likely will miss the rest of the season with an MCL sprain in his left knee. “It didn’t look good with him coming off,’' Browns coach Romeo Crennel said after the 10-6 loss to the Colts, which dropped Cleveland to 4-8 on the year. “I’m not encouraged by the way he came off the field.” An MRI undoubtedly will be performed, which in theory could reveal further damage.
