Falcons running back Jerious Norwood’s career has always been more about potential than production.
In his first two years, he averaged more than six yards-per-carry while getting roughly 100 carries a year. Fans always wanted to see what he could do with more work, but his size and pass protection skills prevented it.
The last two years have been defined by injuries. Norwood missed six games last year with a hip problem and now will miss the rest of the 2010 with a torn ACL, according to Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com.
Norwood will be placed on injured reserve. The Falcons have solid depth with Jason Snelling backing up Michael Turner, although they lost practice squad player Dimitri Nance to the Packers last week.
