Broncos fans now have a chance to own a distinctive and authentic — if not breezy — piece of team history.
According to the Denver Post, the widow of Tim “Barrel Man” McKernan has placed one of his three “game-worn barrels,” for sale on eBay.com.
When they published their story, bidding was at $300, with a Buy It Now price of $500. Since the Post’s item was published, however, bidding has gone up to $1,150.
McKernan was one of the best-known superfans around the league, proudly supporting the Broncos in his barrel, boots and cowboy hat for more than 30 years, before he died in 2009.
