Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw has gained more yards from scrimmage than Brandon Jacobs this season despite 40 fewer carries and a cracked bone in his foot.
Concerned about the injury, Bradshaw went to see a foot specialist Thursday. The doctor told him what the Giants doctors have all season: that Bradshaw can play through the injury.
Bradshaw will continue to rest as much as possible during the week -- his work is limited at practice Wednesday and Thursday -- and play on Sundays. At some point, the crack will turn into a full-blown fracture or he’ll get it fixed in the offseason.
“I just plan on going out there and giving my all. If it breaks, it does and I’ll get surgery. If not, I’ll wait until the end of the season. Hopefully, then I won’t need it. But more than likely, I’ll plan on having surgery,” Bradshaw said Thursday.
The Giants have already lost rookie Andre Brown for the season, and Bradshaw plays a crucial role as a change of pace behind Jacobs.
