Employed by the front office of his former team for less than a month, safety Brian Dawkins already is climbing the ladder.

Via Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Eagles G.M. Howie Roseman announced on Tuesday that Dawkins has received a promotion. The scout is now a Football Operations Executive.

The rapid rise fits with the All-Pro safety’s aspiration to master the art and science of operating a football team.

It’s not just scouting,” Dawkins said last month. “I’m trying to grasp the whole gambit of football operations — how a team is run. I’m learning about the scouting part and the terminology and all those things. . . . I want to learn everything about running a football team.”

At this rate, Dawkins will be running a football team sooner than later.
