Henry Melton was once among the best defensive tackles in the NFL. Now he can’t find steady work.
Melton was cut by the Broncos today, less than two weeks after he was signed.
A Pro Bowler with the Bears in 2012, Melton tore his ACL early in the 2013 season and hasn’t been the same player since. He spent 2014 with the Cowboys and 2015 with the Buccaneers but wasn’t a regular starter in either stop.
Melton may still catch on somewhere with a team looking for some veteran depth on the defensive line, but he turns 30 next month and doesn’t appear to have much left.
