Offensive lineman Michael Bowie joined the Browns as a waiver claim two years ago, but Bowie hasn’t seen any regular season action with the team in the last two seasons.
That won’t change this year and it doesn’t look like it will change in any future years either. The Browns announced on Friday that they have placed Bowie on the reserve/retired list.
Bowie spent both the 2014 and 2015 seasons on injured reserve because of shoulder problems. Those injuries halted a career that started a seventh-round pick in 2013 and saw Bowie start eight regular season games and a playoff win over the Saints for the Seahawks on their way to a Super Bowl title that year.
The Browns signed defensive lineman Kenton Adeyemi to fill the empty spot on the roster. Adeyemi spent parts of May and June with the Bears after signing as an undrafted free agent.
