Cardinals may put Andre Ellington on IR

Ellington

For the Cardinals and their “next man up” vibe, it’s probably easier to list the starters whom they haven’t had to replace due to injury. The latest could be running back Andre Ellington.

According to Mike Jurecki of FOX Sports 910, the Cardinals are considering shelving Ellington, who has both a hip pointer and a sports hernia.

Ellington has 660 yards rushing in 12 games, with an average of 3.3 yards per carry. Last year, he averaged 5.5 per attempt.

Marion Grice is expected to get the bulk of the reps with Ellington out. Grice has 29 yards rushing. All season.
