The Dallas Cowboys were able to manufacture a bit more salary cap space with a restructured contract for defensive tackle Tyrone Crawford.
According to the team’s website, the Cowboys were able to create $4.4 million in salary cap space for 2016 by converting a portion of his base salary into a signing bonus.
The restructure spreads the salary cap cost evenly across the remaining five years of Crawford’s contract.
Crawford signed a five-year extension with Dallas back in September as he was beginning the final year of his contract with the team.
