David Garrard shaken up, leaves game

When things have gone badly for the Jaguars, they have really gotten ugly.

Monday is turning into one of those nights.

Trailing 17-0 late in the first half, Trent Edwards entered the game for the Jaguars at quarterback after David Garrard was “shaken up” on a big hit. The Jaguars will evaluate Garrard at halftime, and decided if he can return.

The Jaguars have struggled to protect Garrard, who has struggled with his accuracy. Garrard was 7-of-12 for only 49 yards and an interception before leaving. The pick seemed to come from some miscommunication when receiver Tiquan Underwood ran a different route than Garrard was expecting.

Garrard looked dazed when he was leaving the field. The way Tennessee’s defensive line is playing, Edwards may be dazed as well by the end of the night.

UPDATE: Edwards led a nice two minute drive, but tight end Marcedes Lewis lost a fumble inside the ten-yard line.

UPDATE II: Garrard is out for the rest of the game. And Edwards threw an interception to start the second half.
