Davon Drew Is Climbing The Ladder

At the tight end position in the 2009, the only guy getting much attention is Brandon Pettigrew of Oklahoma State. But other tight ends will be drafted. One of them is getting a lot of attention as the big day approaches. Per a league source, East Carolina’s Davon Drew has been contacted just this week by 26 of the 32 NFL teams. Regarded at one point as a guy who’d have to scramble for a free-agent deal after the process ends, Drew could now land anywhere between rounds four and seven. He’s a former quarterback who can both catch passes and block. Said our friends at Sporting News in the 2009 draft guide, "[H]e could surprise and develop into a starter.”
