Deuce McAllister returning to the Saints is a cool story, but it’s not going to end with a Hollywood ending like a game-winning touchdown.
Mike Triplette of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports McAllister will lead the team onto the field as captain, but will be inactive.
McAllister was set to be an honorary captain, but Saints G.M Mickey Loomis decided to officially make him part of the team after defensive tackle Rodney Leisle suffered a knee injury.
“This is more about doing something the right way and bringing the guy back,” said coach Sean Payton.
We read some comments criticizing the move, which shows people will complain about anything. The fans of New Orleans love it, and so do McAlister’s teammates. What’s the harm?
