Quarterback Tony Romo and wide receiver Dez Bryant only played in three games together last season as both players dealt with a injuries that helped sink the Cowboys.

They also didn’t get much time together before the season as Bryant didn’t report to offseason work while dealing with his contract and then hurt his hamstring in training camp. Things continued on a similar track this offseason with Bryant out for most of OTAs and minicamp while recovering from surgery, which makes it an even longer time since the two players have extended time working together.

Bryant doesn’t think that their chemistry will be impacted, but said that the two players will work out together before camp because there’s “nothing wrong with knocking the rust off.”

“I just think something me and Tony established a long time ago,” Bryant said, via the Dallas Morning News. “It’s something that can’t fade because that’s something we truly committed ourselves to, being on the same page, it’s all about just tuning it and going to work.”

Spending some time together in the next few weeks certainly isn’t going to hurt, although the Cowboys know well from last season that the time they really need to have Bryant and Romo together starts in September.
