Mike Florio already threw cold water on rumors that ESPN commentator Jon Gruden might replace Andy Reid as Eagles head coach.

The Eagles have responded with a bucket of ice-cold H20.

“Early this morning we have received several inquiries regarding rumors regarding Andy Reid and Jon Gruden,” reads the team’s statement. “This was simply a rumor and there is no basis to it at all. It is simply not true.”

The Eagles have also denied discussing an assistant coaching role with Gruden.

Yeah, he’s interviewing for our assistant special teams coach job,” joked an Eagles spokesman to Geoff Mosher of the Wilmington News Journal.

The rumor started on the Facebook page of ex-Eagles fullback Kyle Eckel.

Eckel hasn’t been a member of the Eagles’ organization since September of 2009.
