ESPN’s Ed Werder is at Cowboys practice, and he reported moments ago that he plans to ask rookie receiver Dez Bryant about reports that “the question” resulted from Bryant admitting that his father is a pimp and explaining that his mother works for his father.
But then Werder said that he already asked Bryant whether he volunteered that his father was a pimp on Thursday, and that Bryant denied it.
ESPN’s decision to hold Bryant’s version until someone else reported Miami’s version without a response from Bryant seems odd, given that ESPN has been pushing privately (we’re told) the Dolphins’ leaked version of the events. Why didn’t ESPN simply report the story and provide Bryant’s response?
Meanwhile, we realize that many of you have complained in the comments that you think this story is no longer newsworthy. Well, we disagree.
