A one-time enemy who has become a good friend of PFT, Howard Eskin of NBC 10 and WIP, was feeling confident about the Eagles’ chances against the 49ers. Indeed, Eskin was feeling very confident.
Eskin, who handles sideline reporting duties for the Eagles radio broadcasts, appeared on KNBR in San Francisco before Sunday’s game between the two teams. Via Deadspin, Eskin guaranteed that the Eagles would win.
And Eskin was willing to put his mountain bike where his mouth is; he said he’d ride a bicycle from Philly to San Fran if the Eagle lose.
“There is no chance the 49ers win -- zero,” Eskin said. “This is a stone-cold mortal lock. I’ll take a bike from Philadelphia to San Francisco. Yes. There’s no way the Eagles go 1-3. None. Absolutely none. . . . They can’t lose to the 49ers.”
They can, and they did. And now Eskin has to find a helmet that matches his trademark fur coat.
After seeing the story, I asked Eskin via text message, “Schwinn or Huffy?” In response, Eskin said he’s trying to find one that rides with little effort.
