The Falcons are third in the NFL in points per game through the first four weeks of the season and their offense could get another piece back as they try to improve to 5-0 this week.

Coach Dan Quinn said Monday that the team expects to have running back Tevin Coleman on the field for Wednesday’s practice. Coleman has not played since breaking a rib in the second week of the regular season and Quinn hopes that changes this week.

“We’re hopeful,’' Quinn said, via ESPN.com. “We’ll probably be able to get him, for sure, some work starting on Wednesday. So, we’re hopeful that he’ll be back with us.”

Coleman’s return will give the Falcons another weapon, but it will also force them to figure out the right balance between Coleman, who started before his injury, and Devonta Freeman. Freeman has run for 209 yards, gained 133 more on 10 catches and scored six touchdowns over the last two weeks.

There are worse problems to have than figuring out how to make two talented backs fit into the same offense, especially when you’ve won all four games you’ve played so far this season.
