Eagles defensive end Fletcher Cox has been fined $16,537 for roughing the passer in Sunday’s win vs. Jacksonville, the NFL confirmed to PFT on Friday.
According to Sheil Kapadia of PhillyMag.com, Cox indicated Friday the fine stemmed from a fourth quarter hit of Jaguars quarterback Chad Henne. The apparent play in question came about midway through the fourth quarter, when Cox hit Henne on a nine-yard completion and drove the quarterback to the ground. The play did not draw a penalty. Cox was, however, penalized for a horse collar tackle of Jaguars tailback Toby Gerhart — a foul that didn’t draw a fine.
The Eagles’ first-round pick in 2012, Cox notched six solo tackles in the 34-17 win vs. the Jaguars.
