Former NFL player Greg Skrepenak pleads guilty to taking bribe

Former Raiders and Panthers offensive lineman Greg Skrepenak has pleaded guilty to taking a bribe while serving as a county commissioner in northeastern Pennsylvania.

“I have to hold myself accountable for what has happened,” Skrepenak said in court.

Skrepenak was accused of accepting $5,000 in gifts from a developer. Sentencing guidelines call for 33 to 41 months in prison.

Skrepenak was widely regarded as one of the best offensive linemen in the country during his time at Michigan. The Raiders picked him with the 32nd overall choice in the 1992 NFL draft. He played for the Raiders from 1992 to 1995 and with the Panthers in 1996 and 1997.
