Bengals bounce four undrafted free agents after failed physicals

The Bengals career of four undrafted rookies lasted about as long as it takes you to read this sentence.

With their rookie minicamp getting underway on Friday, the Bengals gave physicals to all the incoming players. Four of them weren’t able to pass and lost their spots on the team as a result. The Bengals announced that cornerback Derrius Brooks, outside linebacker Julian Miller, guard Mike Ryan and tackle Landon Walker have all been waived.

Three players who were coming to camp for tryouts have been signed to fill the empty space on the roster. Tackle Billy Murphy and defensive back Taiedo Smith (pictured making a tackle against Georgia) both played their college ball over the river for Kentucky and University of Cincinnati defensive end Steve Hancock was even closer to the team.

Assuming there aren’t any red flags in their physicals, the Bengals’ draft picks will join the undrafted rookies and tryout players on the field through Sunday.
