Well, here’s a new topic for the water cooler.

Only days after 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh dismissed reports that running back Frank Gore is frustrated with the lack of a new contract and could be requesting a trade, a new report (which we’ve confirmed) indicates that the Niners and Gore will be getting together soon to talk about the source of Frank’s frustration.

Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, the meeting will occur on Monday.

Whether the meeting is more productive than the sit-down between Chris Johnson and the Titans remains to be seen. The primary difference in this case is that Gore ended his holdout weeks ago. So we doubt that, when the meeting ends, he’ll be leaving town.

And even if Gore asks for a trade at the meeting, he could be hard pressed to find a team who’ll give him DeAngelo Williams money -- and who’d give the Niners what they want in trade.
