Greg Little didn’t make the Browns pay on Thursday night

In the days before Thursday night’s game against the Browns, Bengals wide receiver Greg Little said that he hoped to make the Browns pay for cutting him in May.

The invoice is still pending. Little caught one pass during Cleveland’s 24-3 victory and it came from backup quarterback and fellow former Brown Jason Campbell during garbage time. Little made his only notable impact on the game when he received a 15-yard penalty for head butting Browns defensive back K’Waun Williams at the end of a failed third down conversion in the first quarter.

After the game, Little credited the Browns defense with playing a strong game and said his disappointment was because the team lost rather than because he failed to make the Browns think twice about dropping him from their roster.

“It was just chatter. It is what it is. It’s football. I voiced my opinion,’' Little said, via the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “It’s what I felt from my heart. It’s not different from anybody else if you have a regular day job. I’m pretty sure if Mac lets you go and you go to IBM, I’m pretty sure you’re going to feel some type of way about that.”

It’s a fair enough point about being fired, although the references to Macs and IBM as the great rivals in the tech world would probably work better if this game had taken place 30 years ago. If Little remains with Cincinnati, he’ll have another chance at payback in Week 15.
