Eagles tackle Todd Herremans had a bit of a hitch in his recovery from the dislocated bone in his foot that ended his 2012 season early.
Geoff Mosher of CSNPhilly.com reports that Herremans recently needed to have a surgical procedure on the foot after he developed an infection. Herremans, who also damaged ligaments when he was hurt, is recovering well and there’s no indication that he’ll be at risk of missing any offseason work for the team.
Mosher passes along word that Herremans remains firmly in the team’s plans despite the change from Andy Reid to Chip Kelly at head coach. Herremans was one of three projected Eagles starters on the offensive line to have his season ended by an injury, joining left tackle Jason Peters and center Jason Kelce on the sideline as the Eagles season went up in smoke.
There was some talk at the end of the season about Herremans moving back to guard, where he played for the first few years of his career with the Eagles. Herremans said he’s fine with such a move, although that was before the regime change that the Eagles underwent by hiring Kelly this month.
