The headline on the Jaguars’ second preseason outing on Thursday night is that Blake Bortles is doing everything he can to make the team rethink their starting quarterback decision, but that wasn’t the only thing to come out of their matchup with the Bears.
Right tackle Austin Pasztor broke a bone in his right hand in the game and he’ll be out an unspecified amount of time while it heals. Gene Frenette of the Florida Times-Union reports that Pasztor said it is the first time that he’s ever broken a bone, but that he doesn’t consider it a “big deal.”
Cameron Bradfield will fill in for Pasztor until he’s given the green light to return to work. We won’t have much idea when that might be until a firmer timetable is established and there’s a possibility that Pasztor could use some kind of club or other protective piece to help him return to action before he might be 100 percent recovered.
Pasztor started 12 games for the Jaguars in 2013 and made three other starts for the team after signing onto the practice squad early in the 2012 season.
