Steelers linebacker James Harrison said Sunday on Twitter that he’s undergoing surgery on Monday.

The NFL.com wire service surmised that Harrison will have shoulder surgery.

In reality, he’s having back surgery, according to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “They do not anticipate any difficulties,” agent Bill Parise told Bouchette. “He’s going to be fine.”

Based on the interactive tool at the team’s official website, Harrison never appeared on the injury report with a back injury. (Or, for that matter, a shoulder injury.) In fact, he showed up only a couple of times for missing mid-week practice with an “illness.” He never appeared on the final report with one of the various probable/questionable/doubtful designations.
