It was nearly two years ago when Javon Walker was found unconscious on a Las Vegas street, robbed and beaten with a broken jaw, fractured orbital bone and a concussion.
On Wednesday, Walker was the first witness in a trial of 42-year-old Deshawn Lamont Thomas, his alleged attacker.
According to the AP, Walker said he was “very drunk” at the time of the robbery, but remembers a man grabbing his two-carat diamond earrings. Prosecutors allege that Thomas lured Walker into his vehicle.
Thomas stands on trial for kidnapping, battery and robbery. One man has already pleaded guilty to the crime. Walker is now a free agent, hoping to get one more chance in the NFL.
