The Jets don’t know at the moment who their quarterback will be next year.

But he’ll have plenty of people to hand it to.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Jets are re-signing running back Bilal Powell.

Coupled with yesterday’s addition of Matt Forte, it gives the Jets a pair of versatile threats in the backfield.

There was solid interest in Powell elsewhere, but they were able to keep him in-house.

The 27-year-old back isn’t going to be an every down runner, but he’s like Forte in that he’s good as a receiver, and his retention’s a solid step for the Jets as they sort out who’s playing quarterback.
