The Titans might be having a hard time attracting some General Manager candidates at the moment, but they apparently have a coach who is intrigued in their job.
According to John Clayton of ESPN, Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is interested in the Titans’ job.
McDaniels has always gotten high marks for his ability to draw up ball plays, but he’s likely learned a few things after a failed two-year stint as the Broncos head coach.
But as it pertains to this one, he likely sees a clean slate.
The Titans have a young quarterback in place in Marcus Mariota, and also have the first pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, giving them tremendous flexibility. They can either find an impact player to pair with Mariota, or trade to a team that needs a quarterback themselves.
That would appear to interest McDaniels, enough to counteract the uncertainty over ownership and the identity of the G.M. he’d be working with.
