Last Sunday was a costly day for Texans cornerback Kareem Jackson.
The Texans lost to the Vikings, costing them a shot to clinch a first round bye in the playoffs, and Jackson wound up owing the league $26,250 for a pair of infractions that drew fines from the NFL offices. The first was a $5,250 fine for wearing his socks too high and the second was a $21,000 slap on the wrist for a hit on Vikings wide receiver Jarius Wright.
John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports that Jackson was fined for hitting Wright too high while the Vikings rookie was trying to come up with a catch during the game. Jackson wasn’t penalized for the hit during the game, but the league obviously felt he should have drawn a yellow flag in addition to the FedEx envelope they sent his way during the week.
Jackson has turned in the best season of his three-year career with the Texans, including his first career touchdown on a 63-yard interception return against the Titans in Week Four.
