Bears defensive end Lamarr Houston had one of the most embarrassing plays of the 2014 season: Late in a blowout loss to the Patriots, Houston celebrated a sack by jumping up and down -- and tearing his ACL in the process.

But Houston says he’s not embarrassed about it and has been laughing about it since it happened.

“As soon as I was sitting there on the field, I laughed with the crowd,” Houston said. “I said, ‘Ha, yep, this is the kind of year that I’m having. Let’s laugh it off, let’s go.’”

Now, Houston vows, he’s coming back better than ever and ensuring that opposing quarterbacks will have nothing to laugh about.

“When I found out that I was done, I immediately said I’m going to come back and I’m going to be the best player I can be next year. I have no doubt in my mind. If you’re playing the Bears next year, I would not want to be across from me. No mercy,” Houston said.

After signing a five-year, $35 million contract last year, Houston was a disappointment. The sack that turned out to be his last play of the season was also his only sack of the season. The Bears need Houston to get to the quarterback a lot more often this year. And to act like he’s been there before.
