Lawrence Taylor sued over November car crash

Six months before he was arrested and charged with third-degree rape, former Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor was arrested in Florida for leaving the scene of an accident. Now a man who says he was injured in that accident is suing Taylor.

CBS 4 in Miami is reporting that attorneys for the man whose vehicle Taylor allegedly hit say Taylor was driving negligently and speeding and that the man “suffered bodily injury including a permanent injury.”

The accident happened on November 8, and Taylor was arrested, taken to jail and cited for leaving the scene of an accident with property damage. The lawsuit filed today says Taylor was driving about 80 mph on an expressway where the speed limit is 55 mph.

The lawsuit says Taylor “fled the scene of the accident in an attempt to escape responsibility for his reckless and negligent acts.”
