As we creep closer to the 2015 NFL Draft, the list of possible non-Minnesota destinations for Adrian Peterson keeps getting smaller and smaller.
While the Vikings have insisted they want to keep him, his making it clear he’d prefer to be elsewhere has created a lot of trade chatter in several precincts.
But after early reports had the short list of teams interested in him at six, that’s getting shorter now.
Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports told Arizona Sports 98.7 FM yesterday that the list of teams in the running is effectively three — the Cardinals, Buccaneers and the Jaguars, with the Falcons lurking somewhere around the edges.
Of course, those first three are consistent with what we’ve been suggesting here for some time, as the Cowboys have all-but-said they’re out of the running.
If none of those teams come up with the right package, the Vikings are clearly content to keep him, setting the stage for him to decide if he’s content to stay and take their $13 million.
