As the saying goes, “Once a Raider, always a Raider.” And one former Raiders has found a way to stay a Raider, by becoming the team’s new chaplain.
The Raiders have announced that one-time running back Napoleon Kaufman is returning to the franchise in that role.
“I’m so excited to officially be part of the Raider organization once again,” Kaufman said. “I’ve always considered myself a Raider and to be able to come back and serve the Silver and Black in this capacity is my privilege.”
Kaufman arrived as a first-round pick in 1995. He retired after the 2000 season.
In 1997, Kaufman rushed for 1,294 yards, the second-highest total in franchise history. He has 4,792 career rushing yards.
