Every team that plays on Thursday night will be wearing a Color Rush uniform in 2016. This apparently means that, for games not played on a Thursday night, there will be no Color Rush jerseys.
As to Washington, which plays its one short-week game of the year on Thanksgiving afternoon at Dallas, it specifically means that there swill be no Color Rush jerseys this season.
That’s the word from the team’s official website, courtesy of Larry Michael.
“They are playing a Thursday afternoon on Thanksgiving Day,” Michael said. “They don’t have to wear the Color Rush uniforms.”
The Color Rush program, one of the various aspects of the Nikefication of the NFL, has been somewhat polarizing among the NFL fan base. But with the fans who don’t like the look highly unlikely to not watch, it’s a no-harm situation for the NFL.
