Bengals coach Marvin Lewis confirmed today that quarterback Carson Palmer will miss Sunday’s game against the Jets, and Ryan Fitzpatrick will start. Per, Lewis said Palmer’s elbow injury is not a season-ending condition, but that he hopes to give Palmer some rest now so it doesn’t get worse. Palmer could still dress on Sunday as the No. 2 or No. 3 quarterback. As previously reported by 1530 Homer in Cincinnati, Palmer made only a brief appearance on the practice field today. Palmer hurt his elbow during the September 21 game against the Giants and had his best game of the season despite the pain. But he missed the following week’s game against the Browns. In that game, Fitzpatrick completed 21 of 35 passes for 156 yards, with one touchdown and three interceptions. Palmer has completed 75 of 129 passes for 731 yards, with three touchdowns and four interceptions this season.
