As backs around the NFL are getting bounced today (by their teams and the league), at least one of them is getting a job back.

The Panthers announced they were activating fullback Mike Tolbert from injured reserve/designated for return, among a flurry of other moves.

Tolbert was placed on IR/DFR on Sept. 22 after breaking a bone in his leg.

He was an All-Pro last year, and getting him back can only help an offense that will take just about anyone at this point.

The Panthers also placed right tackle Nate Chandler on injured reserve with a knee injury. While the offensive line has been the Panthers’ weak spot all year, Chandler was developing. The converted defensive tackle had started all 11 games this year.

The Panthers also promoted wide receiver De’Andre Presley from the practice squad, filling the spot cleared when they released veteran wideout Jason Avant.
