The Panthers just lost another one of their key defensive players, though they’re hanging onto a lead.

Defensive end Charles Johnson was just carted off the field with a hamstring injury, after dealing the same issue through the week of practice.

He’s already been declared out for the rest of the game.

The Panthers are already playing without middle linebacker Luke Kuechly, and Johnson’s their most consistent performer against the run and pass up front.

They’re still clinging to a 20-16 lead over the Saints in the fourth quarter.
