Patriots expected to cut Nick Kaczur

Patriots Kazcur Arrested Football

New York State Police said Kaczur was arrested in New York in April on a misdemeanor charge of illegal possession of oxycodone, a prescription painkiller. The Boston Globe is reporting Kaczur then helped federal authorities in a sting operation that resulted in the indictment of an alleged drug dealer. (AP Photo/Elise Amendola, File)

Nick Kaczur appears to be done as a New England Patriot.

Kaczur, a former regular starter on the Patriots’ offensive line who missed the entire 2010 season, has likely played his last down with the team, the Boston Herald is reporting.

According to the report, the Patriots approached Kaczur and asked him to take a massive pay-cut from his 2011 salary of $3.4 million. Kaczur declined.

So the Patriots, who were just fine without Kaczur in 2010, will move on without Kaczur going forward. And Kaczur will look for a team that’s willing to make him a starter, and pay him accordingly.
