Veteran linebacker James Anderson has found a home in New England.
Anderson, who played last season with the Bears, signed with the Patriots today. Anderson is the kind of dependable veteran Bill Belichick likes to collect for his defense, and it’s easy to see Anderson being a good fit in New England.
Anderson was one of the outside linebackers on PFT’s All-Unemployed Team.
The 30-year-old Anderson played for the Panthers from 2006 to 2012 before signing with Chicago. He started all 16 games for the Bears last year.
To make room for Anderson on the 90-man roster, the Patriots cut receiver Mark Harrison, who signed with them as an undrafted free agent last year and ended up spending 2013 on the reserve/non-football injury list.
