Player representatives might vote on a new drug-testing proposal tomorrow. But they might not. And if they do vote, it’s no sure thing that they’ll vote to approve the owners’ latest offer.
Multiple sources tell PFT that there are real issues that remain to be ironed out before the players would agree to the owners’ preferred drug-testing polices.
The NFL Players Association has asked for a proposal that can be voted on by the 32 player representatives. But the NFL’s next proposal might not even be acceptable enough to the players to get to a vote. And if it is voted upon, the player representatives may vote it down.
In other words, this isn’t over by any stretch of the imagination. And although it’s possible that tomorrow will see an agreement, it’s also possible that tomorrow will see a setback.
