Raiders running back Darren McFadden seemingly passed a big test in the first quarter of the season: He can be a difference making running back. As a starter.
Now comes the hard part: Can McFadden be durable?
A right hamstring injury knocked him out of Sunday’s loss to Houston, but early indications are that it may not be too serious a problem.
“Darren’s statement was, it’s not nearly like the one I had in camp. So, we’ll see,” Raiders coach Tom Cable said, via the San Francisco Chronicle.
McFadden missed over two weeks with a left hamstring injury in August. With third-stringer Michael Bennett also hurt, it won’t be hard to guess McFadden’s status by Sunday. They need to sign someone if he’s not available.
