They’re not going to the playoffs and their head coach reportedly will be fired, but the Raiders can at least lay claim to going undefeated in the AFC West after beating the Chiefs in Kansas City to close out the season, 31-10.

And if the Raiders had been a little better record than 2-8 out of the division, they may have made it to the postseason.

As it stands, Oakland is the first team to go 6-0 in its division and not make it to the playoffs (thanks to our friends at the Elias Sports Bureau). The Chiefs, meanwhile, went 2-4 in the division -- and they likely will be the No. 4 seed, if the Colts win against the Titans today.

If that’s how it plays out, the Chiefs will host the Ravens and the Colts and Jets will have a first-round rematch of the 2009 AFC title game in Indy.

For the Chiefs, it was their first loss at home, and it came in the wake of reports that offensive coordinator Charlie Weis will be leaving the team to take the same job at the University of Florida.
