Aaron Rodgers has been cleared to return to the football field, just in time for the Packers’ biggest game of the year.
Jason Wilde of ESPNMilwaukee.com reports that Rodgers passed all his the necessary post-concussion tests and will be on the practice field Wednesday.
“I’m baaaaaaacckkkk,” Rodgers texted to Wilde.
While coach Mike McCarthy might prefer the information remain private for another day, it doesn’t come as a great shock. The news makes a Sunday’s Packers-Giants game even more exciting.
This is about as good as a Week 16 game can get. The Giants are in the playoffs with a win, while the Packers can get in with two wins to close out their season. In a year without any truly dominant NFC teams, the Giants and Packers both still have the talent and balance to make a run to the Super Bowl.
First they’ll have to win Week 16’s game of the week.
