The Jets had issued a statement regarding the Deadspin report unearthing foot-fetish videos that appear to star the wife of Jets coach Rex Ryan. The coach had not personally addressed the situation.
He now has.
In a conference call with the Chicago media, Ryan said (via Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune), “I know you need to ask, it’s a personal matter.”
Though we’re surprised by Rex’s ability (so far) to stick to the Tannenbaum-crafted talking points, is it a personal matter when very private videos have been uploaded to a very public website?
We’re not so sure that it is, but we don’t know what else Ryan or anyone else would have or could have or should have said.
And we have to give him credit for not blaming it all on Sal Alosi.
