A report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network on Sunday regarding Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has brought a quick response from Roethisberger’s agent.
The report concerned Roethlisberger’s unhappiness with the direction of the team and the possibility that he could request a trade in the offseason. Roethlisberger’s agent Ryan Tollner responded on Twitter Sunday and called the report “completely wrong.”
“Ian Rapoport’s apparent sources seem to be guessing what Ben feels about the Steelers and being traded,” Tollner wrote. “This is completely wrong and inaccurate. Ben has always said he wants to play his entire career for the Steelers, and his roots are set firmly in Pittsburgh. He has a lot left in the tank and is 100 percent committed to winning more championships with the Steelers.”
It’s an emphatic denial, which is pretty much what you’d expect from a guy with eight more games to play this season. Minds can change, of course, but that will likely be a topic for the offseason.
